Objectives:

• To mould the character and personality of women workers of the free trade zone to make them aware of their rights and fight for equality.

The Women's Education and Training Institute originally commenced its activities as a centre for the dissemination of information of the rights of women in general and of issues pertaining to women in particular. In 1987, a leaflet was distributed throughout the island for this purpose. However, in 1991, the organisation directed its activities towards women workers of the Free Trade Zone. An office was established together with a library in the Free Trade Zone area. To achieve the organisation's objective, it is conducting training programs and workshops on a regular basis.
